Amity International School in Delhi's Pushp Vihar receives bomb threat

Amity International School located in the Pushp Vihar area of Delhi receives bomb threat email, investigation underway, says Delhi Police.

The Amity International School in Delhi's Pushp Vihar received an email regarding a bomb threat on Monday morning, prompting police to launch a search operation, officials said. A thorough checking of the school premises is being done by a bomb detection squad which has found nothing suspicious so far, a Delhi Police official told news agency PTI.

No immediate reaction was available from the Amity International School administration on the matter.

"An email was received today morning at around 3.10am at Amity International School, Pushp Vihar regarding a bomb threat. A thorough checking of the school is being done through BDT but nothing found yet," the police officer said.

In a similar incident earlier this month, Delhi Public School (DPS) in Delhi's RK Puram had received a bomb threat mail. DPS RK Puram received an email about two bombs on the premises after which the administration immediately informed the police. The school was immediately vacated and a search operation was launched.

In September last year, the Lal Bahadur Shastri School in RK Puram also received an email about a bomb on the premises that later turned out to be a hoax. In May last year, the Delhi Public School in Mathura Road received a similar hoax email about a bomb.

On February 11, an FIR was filed against an unidentified individual for sending a threatening email to the office of the US Consulate General in Mumbai. According to reports, the sender, claiming to be an absconding US citizen, threatened to detonate explosives at the consulate and harm American staff members.

Earlier this month, the Mumbai Traffic Police Control Room received a similar threat from an unknown sender, mentioning the placement of bombs at six different locations across the city.

Prior to these incidents, several museums in Mumbai, including the renowned Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum, received threatening emails warning of potential bomb attacks.
