Delay in Budget diversionary tactic by Delhi govt: BJP
BJP said the Aam Aadmi Party government deliberately did not provide information about the Delhi Budget to the Centre and thus delayed its tabling to divert attention from the scams it is involved in
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party government deliberately did not provide information about the Delhi Budget to the Centre and thus delayed its tabling to divert attention from the purported scams it is involved in.
Leader of the opposition in the Delhi assembly, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said the government “unconstitutionally” announced the Budget date without the approval of the Centre.
“Finance minister Kailash Gahlot should resign immediately as he has violated the oath of secrecy by leaking the Budget. The Delhi government deliberately did not provide information about the budget to the Centre to defame the Centre and divert attention from corruption which it is involved in,” he said at a press conference.
“The Central government had sent the Budget file to the Delhi government well in time. On March 17, the file was sent by the home ministry to the Delhi government, in which some information was sought. If the Delhi government wanted, it could have immediately provided the information and sent the file back, but it did not do so. Kejriwal government has done this deliberately because it knows that its government is facing many scams and in such a situation, the Central government can be blamed to divert the attention of the people,” Bidhuri said.
Accusing the AAP government of “looting” the people of Delhi, Bidhuri said, “The Centre has every right to seek clarifications from the Delhi government…The Kejriwal government is not allowing the Ayushman Bharat scheme of the central government, and the schemes started for the benefit of the farmers to be implemented in Delhi, only because of political rivalry.”
