Delhi Police on Tuesday said they have busted a pan-India cyber investment fraud and mule account syndicate after arresting nine people from Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab.

The gang was linked to 34 cyber fraud complaints lodged on national cybercrime reporting portal (NCRP) involving fraudulent transactions of more than ₹15.71 crore. The arrests have led to the solving of seven cyber crime cases that were registered in Delhi and involved nearly ₹2.7 crore of the cheating amount, said deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Amit Goel.
“Our investigation has also brought to light overseas linkages indicating a Qatar connection, while digital evidence and disclosures suggest that operational coordination was being carried out through associates based in Dubai,” added DCP Goel.
The arrested people were identified as Jamaluddin Faisal (30), Sarabjit Singh (43), Sonia Sharma (42), Shoeb Dilavar Saiyyad (26), Siddiki Mahamadsiddik Mufidbhai (30), Shaikh Riyazuddin Imtiyaz (29), Hamza Humayu (26), Kamalsha Kadarshah (30) and Muzamil Thaib (20), the police said.
DCP Goel said the arrests happened following investigation into a cyber fraud case registered at the cyber police station of southwest district on the complaint of a Palam Colony resident, who was lured into social media groups appearing to be investment-learning platforms and duped of ₹4.82 lakh in the name of trading profits.
“Investigators traced the cheated money trail and digital footprints that helped them identify and arrest the nine accused following raids in Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab. Eight mobile phones containing incriminating records were seized,” added Goel.
