Fire breaks out in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area, 10 fire tenders rushed to spot

A fire broke out in Delhi's famous Lajpat Nagar market area on Monday afternoon.

A massive fire broke out in a three-storey building in Delhi's famous Lajpat Nagar market area on Monday afternoon. According to officials, they received a call regarding the fire near Shop number 16 around 4:10 pm. A total of 10 fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.

“The fire broke out in a garment shop and spread around 100 square yards on the first and second floor,” officials said.

No casualties have been reported in the incident.

Meanwhile, on May 21, a fire broke out in a cinema hall in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar. According to officials, the incident took place at Fun Cinema Auditorium number 3 during the screening of the Hollywood movie ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’. All the 67 people who were in the theatre at the time of the incident were all safety evacuated, they said.

Prima facie, the blaze originated in the projection room.
