6 more test positive for Covid at St Stephen’s College
Last week, 13 students and two staff members tested positive after they returned from a college trip to Dalhousie. The college enforced strict protocols on the campus and reserved two blocks to isolate the infected.
Six more Covid-19 cases have been reported from St Stephen’s College, officials said on Saturday.
Civil Lines sub-divisional magistrate Rajesh Chaudhary confirmed the count.

Principal John Varghese did not respond to calls, texts and emails seeking comment on the condition of the students and staff members.
Nandita Narain, an associate professor at the college and member of its governing body, had written to Varghese on Friday wondering whether the college ought to be closed. She said she was yet to receive a response to that mail.
Meanwhile, the Netaji Subhash University of Technology (NSUT) Saturday organised a testing camp for students and staff a day after a few cases were reported from the campus. It had earlier announced the suspension of in-person academic activities and advised hostellers to vacate their rooms.
University officials did not disclose the number of cases reported but said all were among staff members. The state-run NSUT in Dwarka on Friday had issued a circular that stated that another testing camp will be organised for NSUT employees and students on April 10 from 10am at the students’ centre
On Thursday, it deferred all exams till further orders. “BTech/B.E students staying in hostels may vacate the hostel if desired. Other residents... are strictly prohibited from leaving the campus,” its order read.
Sujata Sengar, Dean of Academics at NSUT, said no student had tested positive as of now.
