Domestic help found dead in employer’s southeast Delhi home

Police said the woman, a resident of Madrasi Camp, and her mother worked as domestic helps at the house in Lajpat Nagar-II.

The body of a 19-year-old domestic help was found with burn injuries at a house where she worked in southeast Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar on Friday morning.

Police said the woman, a resident of Madrasi Camp, and her mother worked as domestic helps at the house in Lajpat Nagar-II.

Police said that on Friday morning, they got a call saying a woman had died due to electrocution in the Lajpat Nagar area, following which a team was rushed to the spot. Police said the woman’s body had burn injuries.

According to the preliminary investigation, police said, the woman came to work at the house at around 7am and died there around an hour later.

Police said forensic experts have inspected the spot, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Deputy commissioner of police (southeast) Esha Pandey said they are awaiting the post-mortem to take further legal action.
