The victim was on his way to report for work when the accident took place. An FIR was filed at Sector 37 police station under BNS sections 281 and 106.

A 25-year-old man died after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a truck near the Hero Honda Chowk underpass in Gurugram early Saturday morning, police said on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Shivam Kumar, of Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, was living in Narsinghpur and working in a company, police said. According to a complaint filed by his cousin, Kumar left his rented accommodation around 6.30am on Saturday on his motorcycle to report for work at Yashobhoomi.

Around 6.50am, his cousin was informed of the accident and found Kumar injured on the roadside, along with his motorcycle and a truck. Police said the truck driver fled on foot.

Kumar was taken to Civil Hospital and later a private hospital in Gurugram. He died while being shifted to Safdarjung Hospital, police said.

An FIR was registered at Sector 37 police station under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The vehicles were seized. The investigation is underway.
