Continuing their verbal spat over the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), Union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Tuesday alleged that chief minister Ashok Gehlot is blaming him for the latter’s inaction.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s (right) comment came a day after Ashok Gehlot (left) took a jibe at him over the ERCP issue.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat’s (right) comment came a day after Ashok Gehlot (left) took a jibe at him over the ERCP issue.

The union minister’s comment came a day after Gehlot took at jibe at Shekhawat without taking his name at an all-party meeting on ERCP, which will ensure availability of drinking and irrigation water in 13 districts of Rajasthan.

“When CP Joshi was minister in GoI (government of India) he brought projects such as Memu Coach…It all depend on the will power, if a minister wants, he can get a project sanctioned,” Gehlot reportedly said.

Shekhawat hit back at Gehlot in a tweet on Tuesday. “The entire rhetoric of Gehlot on ERCP is to blame me. You (Gehlot) are blaming me for your inaction,” he said.

“By the way, how many coaches have been made in the coach factory opened by CP Joshi? The factory has opened but the railway itself did not consider it eligible,” he added.

In another tweet, he said, “As a result, the work stopped, the factory was closed and the announcement proved to be outrageous. Go today and see that the power for 10 days could not even save foundation stone. The Congress loves to put any scheme in “dabba” (box)! And today the Congress is in the box.”

Earlier this month, Shekhawat said that instead of wasting time on defining the word Nikama (useless) it would have been better that he should have put efforts to understand the technicalities of Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).

His reply came after Gehlot during his speech defined the word nikamma, which he had used a few days back for Shekhawat.
