Around 60 specially abled children from the children’s home were invited to join the celebrations at the plant. They were taken on a tour of the plant and shown the way products were made.

Since Drishti has been running a special outlet of Amul named D Cafe 16 for nearly four years, and the specially abled children work there, they were even more eager to see the processes. They were also served delicious treats during their visit.

According to Drishti director, Shalu, this unique and educational outing would be one that the children would remember for a long time to come. The children’s group also performed cultural programmes for the hosts. Not only that, they also presented the Amul management team with a painting of the Amul mascot that they prepared themselves.

The visit and programmes began in the morning and the children were on their way back by afternoon. The children were accompanied by two directors of Drishti, as well as special caregivers and trainers. The Amul plant head, Dinesh Chaudhury, and branch manager, Rajeev Tripathi, were also present to interact with the children.
