Etah man gets 20 years in jail for sexual assault on 12-year-old boy

The minor victim’s mother lodged the FIR at Raja Ka Rampur police station, following which the case was taken up by the Etah court. The court held the accused guilty on August 7 under sections 377, 504 and 506 of the IPC and sections 3/4 of the Pocso Act. However, he was acquitted of the offence under the SC/ST Act for lack of evidence.

A special Pocso court in Etah on Monday sentenced a man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy to 20 years’ imprisonment.

The Pocso court also imposed a fine of ₹73,000 on the convict. (For representation)

The order was passed in the ‘State versus Pushpendra alias Bhola’ case pertaining to an incident reported in the jurisdiction of Raja Ka Rampur police station in Etah on June 19, 2024.

Following the incident, an FIR was registered against Pushpendra alias Bhola, 28, under sections 377, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), sections 3/4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the SC/ST Act. The accused allegedly took the 12-year-old boy from his school to a farm and sexually assaulted him before threatening him not to disclose the incident.

On Monday, Narendra Pal Rana, special judge of the exclusive Pocso court and additional district judge, sentenced Pushpendra to 20 years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹73,000.
