For Mahakumbh-2025, Yogi Adityanath promises ‘new Prayagraj’

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday promised a grand Mahakumbh-2025 and said Prayagraj would be transformed in to a “New Prayagraj” for the mega religious congregation just as the facilities in the Sangam city were improved in a comprehensive manner in the run-up to the Kumbh-2019.
“I have come here along with my senior ministers and government officials to discuss as to exactly how we can achieve this in a planned manner,” he said.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath was addressing a “Prabuddh Jan Sammelan” (meeting of intellectuals) at Parade ground in Prayagraj.
During the event, Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 284 development and infrastructure projects worth ₹1295 crore.
The chief minister said the mafiosi who earlier had held Prayagraj captive and acted as barriers in development projects and initiatives were today fearful of action against them. He mentioned how their properties were attached and demolished and then used for constructing houses for the poor.
Any mafioso who tries to occupy or snatch land and properties of the common man including traders, businessmen or others, would be strictly dealt with, he said.
Not only the land illegally occupied by them would be freed, but also properties of the mafiosi would be attached and demolished, the chief minister warned.
Adityanath said the state government would act strictly against all elements acting as barriers in the path of progress and development by adopting a policy of “zero tolerance” against them.
He said ever since his government came to power, it had been striving to provide employment to youths and make them self-reliant.
Adityanath urged people to backed government initiatives at all levels. He promised that people’s suggestions with regard to Mahakumbh-2025 would be considered by the government.
Certificates, cheques and keys of houses to 20 beneficiaries of four different government schemes -- rural housing, urban housing, Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojna and one district one product -- were also distributed by the chief minister.
Later, he also reviewed preparations of Magh Mela-2023 and Mahakumbh-2025 by holding meeting with officials concerned at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) during his a little over four-hour visit.
The others present at the event included deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, besides industrial development and export promotion minister Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi”.
Mayor Abhilasha Gupta, MPs Kesari Devi Patel, Rita Joshi and Ramesh Chand Bind along with MLAs Sidharth Nath Singh, Harshvardhan Bajpai, Praveen Patel, Guru Prasad Maurya, Piyush Ranjan Nishad, Vachaspati and Rajmani Kol were also there.
MLCs Lakshman Acharya, KP Srivastava, Surendra Chaudhary and Nirmala Paswan among others were also present on the occasion.
