Online Vs offline exams: Over 7K students submit feedback to AU admn
Allahabad University (AU) had sought feedbacks from its students as well as those of constituent colleges by March 10 regarding online or offline exams
Over 7,000 students have submitted their feedback to Allahabad University (AU) officials regarding the mode in which the varsity should conduct their final exams. Bulk of these students have submitted their preference at the proctor office while others have apprised the officials through e-mail, informed AU officials.

“Around 5650 students have submitted their feedback in hard copy and around 1500 via e-mail. Now, a high-powered committee formed to look into the demand of agitating students calling for online exams instead of the proposed offline one will screen the feedbacks and submit its recommendations to vice-chancellor prof Sangita Srivastava,’ said AU PRO, Prof Jaya Kapoor said.
The AU had sought feedbacks from its students as well as those of constituent colleges by March 10 in this regard.
Student leaders claimed that around 80% students want exams to be held online.
It may be noted that the AU’s examination committee had decided to conduct the undergraduate and postgraduate exams in offline mode from April 22. Following the decision, large scale protests were witnessed at AU and students had also created ruckus on the Arts faculty campus. As the issue escalated, a high-powered committee was constituted under the chairmanship of dean (science) prof Shekhar Srivastava to look into the issue.
However, the committee could not take any decision and students re-intensified the protest. Later, AU registrar Prof NK Shukla issued a notification asking students to submit their feedback by March 10.
