Giving this information here on Tuesday, All-India Power Engineers Federation chairman Shailendra Dubey said the demonstration would start at 11am at Jantar Mantar with a number of power employees associations participating in it.

“By passing a resolution in the rally on November 23, the central government will be warned that if any one-sided process of passing the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022 is initiated, it will have serious consequences and there will be a nationwide movement against the move,” Dubey said.

Power engineers and employees in U.P., in the meantime, began work-to-rule before beginning indefinite work boycott from November 29 to press their demands including time-bound pay scales and restoration of old pension scheme.

UPPCL chairman M Devraj on Monday met the aggrieved family members of chief engineer, Mirzapur, Raja Babu Katiyar who died recently due to cardiac arrest, at their Nirala Nagar residence here amid accusations by the employees’ unions that he suffered heart stroke due to work pressure.
