UP civic polls 2023: How to download voters' list for urban local body elections

The upcoming civic polls also seen as a crucial political exercise to gauge the public sentiments of urban voters ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The second and the final phase of the urban local body (ULB) elections in Uttar Pradesh today will decide the fate of 39,146 poll aspirants in 38 districts. Elections will be conducted in 370 ULBs for 7,006 posts including seven nagar nigams, 95 nagar palika parishads and 268 nagar panchayats.

The upcoming civic polls are also seen as a crucial political exercise to gauge the public sentiments of urban voters ahead of the 2024 general elections.

“All arrangements are in place for peaceful and fair voting in the second phase for which a total of 19,618 booths under 6,378 polling centres have been readied,” state election commissioner Manoj Kumar said. Polling will take place from 7 am to 6 pm.

Seven municipal corporations (nagar nigams)—Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Aligarh, Kanpur Nagar and Ayodhya—will be electing their mayors. Shahjahanpur will vote for the first time as a nagar nigam. In last civic elections, four mayor seats were won by Bharatiya Janata Party. While the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won the Aligarh and Meerut seats, the SP drew a blank.

Steps to download voters' list:

1. Click here to visit the download page
2. Fill the sections with required details. Choose the correct body type, district, ULB name, ward name.
3. After that, type in the captcha code correctly and click on submit.
4. You will be asked to type in your mobile number and click on ‘generate OTP’.
5. Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number and click enter.
6. You will redirected to next page from where you can download the voters' list.
