The Uttar Pradesh government has identified 190 villages to develop them as model dairy production villages with a view to enhance milk production as well as creating jobs in the state, said Dharampal Singh, minister, animal husbandry and dairy development, on Wednesday.
“We have decided to develop 190 villages spread over 20 districts under 18 divisions as model dairy production villages to increase milk production and give a fillip to rural economy in UP,” he said.
“The milk production committees in all the identified villages will be provided all necessary facilities and incentives apart from ensuring timely payments to them,” he added.
The minister issued directions in this regard to officials while holding a meeting in connection with expansion of milk production committees in the state.
Addressing the meeting he said that the dairy sector had immense possibilities of creating self-employment and increasing farmers’ income. The sector, he said, would play a key role in making UP a one-trillion economy in future.
He said during the recent international road shows ahead of the Global Investors Summit, investors had shown huge interest to invest in UP.
