Yogi for new state guest houses in Bengaluru, Delhi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj
Despite availability of UP Bhawan and UP Sadan in Delhi as well as the newly dedicated guest house ‘Indraprastha’ in Dwarka, there is need for a new guest house there, says CM
LUCKNOW Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday ordered that new state guest houses be set up in Bengaluru, Delhi, Ayodhya and Prayagraj.
He issued a directive in this regard while reviewing the functioning of the estate department. “Land for the new state guest house should be identified in Bengaluru,” Adityanath said and added that guest houses in Prayagraj and Ayodhya were required for state guests.
The state government expects tourist footfalls and VIP visits to grow in Ayodhya and Prayagraj.
“Despite the availability of UP Bhawan and UP Sadan in Delhi as well as the newly dedicated guest house ‘Indraprastha’ in Dwarka, there is need for a new guest house there,” Adityanath added. He pointed out that suitable land is available for this in Sector 148 of Gautam Buddh Nagar. He also asked officials to expedite completion of the under-construction ‘Gomti’, the special guest house at Lucknow’s Vikramaditya Marg.
While reviewing the arrangement of MLAs’ residences and guest houses, the CM laid special emphasis on facilities and security at these places. He also said that visitors coming to state government’s guest houses in various states, including UP, should have a pleasant experience - right from hospitality to food and room service.
“Necessary arrangements should be made while ensuring security of buildings, including CCTV cams and fire safety,” the CM was quoted as saying in a media handout. He also directed officials to ensure availability of standard residential facilities in every MLA residence.
Emphasising on high-level services in guest houses, the CM advised officials to consult experts in this regard. He said through outsourcing, qualified and skilled youth in the hospitality sector should be deployed in guest houses.
He also instructed officials regarding deployment of regular employees in guest houses on the basis of their qualification and efficiency. Regarding transfers, the CM directed officials to follow the policy of the department concerned.
Adityanath gave instructions for police verification of personnel providing services through outsourcing and stressed on the arrangement of hospitality for governors, judges, foreign guests and other special guests, according to the protocol.
