Yogi launches Tiranga Yatra, says ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’a mass movement now

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off a bike rally to mark the launch of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s two-day Tiranga Yatra across the state on Tuesday.

Yogi, who flagged the yatra along with deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, former ministers Ashutosh Tandon and Mahendra Singh and various other party functionaries, tasked the cadres with ensuring that each house displayed the Tricolour.

The BJP has announced ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign timed with the completion of 75 years of the nation’s independence on August 15 and senior BJP leaders across the country launched Tiranga Yatras across the state.

“The Har GharTiranga campaign announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become a mass movement now. The campaign is not just helping us respect the national symbols but also recall the sacrifice of those who laid down their lives for the sake of the country,” he said.

“We must approach each and every house with full dedication, passion and discipline and ensure that the Tiranga reaches each and every house,” he said.

The CM also greeted the people, saying that a series of festive occasions were lined up –Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan and Krishna Janmashtami.

BJP leader Praveen Garg said that the bike rally flagged off by the chief minister concluded at the martyr’s memorial in the presence of party MLC and Lucknow BJP chief Mukesh Sharma. At a recent review meeting, the chief minister, had set a target to hoist 4.50 crore national flags in the state.

All party functionaries would be part of the campaign. The two-day Tiranga Yatra would be followed by a cleanliness drive on August 11, during which the cadre would clean up the area in and around the statues of great leaders.

“From Thursday, we will also take out ‘prabhat pheris’ (morning rounds) in villages and cities to create ‘janjagran (awareness)’. From August 13 to 15, the party would knock on each door to make the ‘Har GharTiranga’ campaign a success,” said BJP leader Himanshu Dubey.
