Mother of four strangled by 27-year-old live-in partner in Ghaziabad
The woman had left her husband and four children in Mumbai to stay with Pankaj Joshi, now accused of her murder, in Ghaziabad.
A month-old live-in relationship between a 45-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man turned sour with the man on Thursday night strangling the woman to death at his house in Khoda locality of Ghaziabad.

The woman had left her husband and four children in Mumbai to stay with the accused, Pankaj Joshi, in Ghaziabad.
Joshi, who is unmarried, is from Nainital and ran an eatery in Khoda.
He and the woman, Renu Singh, started chatting with each other on a social networking site four months ago. Around two months ago, Renu came to meet Joshi and stayed with him for a day before returning to her husband’s house in Kandivali, Mumbai.
“She again came to visit me on April 8 and we started living together. Initially, we were both comfortable but later, she started forcing me to marry her and severe ties with my family in Nainital. I could not do so and there were frequent altercations. Once, I even called her husband and asked him to take her away,” Joshi said.
“On Thursday night, there was another fight and she started hitting and abusing me. After she threatened to get me implicated in a false case, I got furious and choked her with her dupatta. I pushed her on to the bed and continued choking her till she died. Once she was dead, I slept in the same room,” he said.
Around 1am on Friday, Joshi walked to Khoda police station and surrendered himself.
