3 teens beat up man over an argument during Dandiya
A fight broke out during a Dandiya event in Thane when a woman was pushed and her brother intervened. The brother was beaten, stabbed, and hospitalized.
Thane: A few teens pushed a woman while playing Dandiya, which turned into an argument when her brother asked them to behave. The argument escalated into a fight, and three persons beat him up, fracturing his leg and stabbing him with a sharp weapon.

The brother has been identified as Manjumeel Ahmed Shaikh, 19, and Aman and his two accomplices have been booked.
The incident took place in the Prabodhkar Thackeray school grounds at Netivali in Kalyan East, where youths were gathered playing dandiya. On October 23, Shaikh was playing Dandiya in a separate circle with his 17-year-old sister and his friends.
According to Kolsewadi police officials, the accused were also playing dandiya when the younger sister Shaikh was pushed by one of the accused. When Shaikh went to ask the reason behind pushing his sister, the two got into an argument while the dandiya was going on. In a few moments, the dispute broke out and the thugs started beating Shaikh. At that time, the sister came to save her brother, but the accused pushed her, grabbed her hair, and threw her away. Then one of the accused took out a knife and stabbed Shaikh. All the other players in the Dandiya programme got scared and ran towards the gate. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused ran from the ground. Meanwhile, Shaikh was admitted to a hospital, where he had 17 stitches on the wound and a leg fracture. His condition is now said to be stable. Kolsewadi police have formed a team to search for the accused.
