An eight-year-old boy was electrocuted from an electric scooter kept on charge at his house in Loni’s Chaman Vihar colony, police said on Saturday.
Police said the incident took place on Friday afternoon when the boy was playing near the vehicle.
Police said the incident took place on Friday afternoon when the boy was playing near the vehicle.
“The parents, who were not at home during the incident, noticed the boy collapsed on the ground and took him to a hospital in Delhi, where he was declared dead. Primary investigation shows that the boy was electrocuted due to a possible short-circuit that probably occurred while the scooter was being charged,” said assistant commissioner of police (ACP) (Ankur Vihar) Amardeep Maurya.
ACP Maurya said that the police did not receive any complaint from his family.
“The child might have tried to fiddle with the wires. An autopsy has been ordered,” said Yogendra Pawar, station house officer (SHO) of Ankur Vihar police station.
