Akhilesh demands immediate relief for rain-hit farmers

Lucknow Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday asked the state government to provide immediate relief to farmers who have suffered losses due to the intense unseasonal rains and hailstorms.

“The calamity has hit the crops across the state. The damage is such that farmers are fearing for their livelihood. Given the circumstances, the government should immediately announce compensation for the farmers,” said the SP chief.
