Attack at party MP’s house: SP leaders condemn incident, warn agitation after Eid
Senior Samajwadi Party leaders reached the house of Suman and blamed the local administration and police for failing to do the needful
Senior Samajwadi Party leaders have condemned the attack on the Agra house of party general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP, Ramjilal Suman, and warned of a state-wide agitation after Eid if no proper action is taken against attackers.

A day after the attack, senior Samajwadi Party leaders reached the house of Suman and blamed the local administration and police for failing to do the needful.
Samajwadi Party general secretary prof Ramgopal Yadav reached the apartment on Thursday and met family members, including Ranjeet Suman, son of Ramjilal Suman. Ranjeet lodged the FIR in the case.
“It is an unfortunate incident when the house of a senior Samajwadi Party leader was attacked on the day when the chief minister was attending an event a short distance from the MP’s house. It was a pre-planned attack and those coming on a bulldozer with lathi and swords in hand were not stopped on the way, the day security was high in Agra,” complained prof Ramgopal Yadav.
“This attack is the outcome of a feudalistic mindset and Suman was attacked because he is a dalit. It is an attack on the dalit community and PDA and if no proper action is taken against the culprits, the Samajwadi Party will lodge state-wide agitation after Eid,” he said.
Yadav said that the statement (on Rana Sanga) was given by Suman in parliament and should have been settled in parliament. There is no logic behind attacking family members.
“Senior officials in Agra were aware of plans for attack but no steps were taken by Agra police and administration. The attack was the outcome of support from local administration,” alleged prof Yadav.
Later in the day, general secretary Shivpal Yadav reached the house and blamed the BJP for the attack and its anti-dalit, anti-backward and anti-minority mindset behind the planned attack at the MP’s house.
“BJP has failed in the state on the issue of governance and keeping the promises made. The house of a Samajwadi Party MP was targeted, cars parked were damaged, caste-based abuses were hurled,” said Shivpal Yadav.
“The attackers came crossing multiple police stations but the local police and administration did nothing. Still, the police is not taking any action against the accused,” alleged Shivpal Yadav.
