Krishna Janmabhoomi case: Revision plea filed to allow ‘jalabhishek’ in mosque
Dinesh Sharma, national treasurer of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), a right-wing organisation, has moved court seeking permission to conduct ‘jalabhishek’ of deity inside the Shahi Eidgah Mosque
The national treasurer of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), a right-wing organisation, Dinesh Sharma on Tuesday filed revision plea seeking permission to conduct ‘jalabhishek’ (offering water) to ‘Laddoo Gopal’ in Shahi Eidgah Mosque. The mosque is considered the ’garbha girha’ (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple allegedly razed by Aurangzeb in 1670 by the Hindu litigants.

“There are about half a dozen applications moved by me in case no 174 of 2021 (Thakur Keshav Dev Ji Maharaj versus Management Committee, Shahi Eidgah Mosque and others) in the court of the civil judge (senior division), Mathura, but no orders have been passed on these applications,” Sharma said.
The applications include purification of Shahi Eidgah Mosque premises with ‘Gangajal’, seeking permission to conduct ‘jalabhishek’ (offering water) of ‘Laddoo Gopal’ within Eidgah premises, stopping ‘azan’ at the mosque and seeking permission to visit Shahi Eidgah Mosque daily with district officials.
“I have already filed a revision plea when no order was passed on my application seeking permission for a survey of the mosque,” stated Sharma.
“I had sought permission on May 13 to conduct ‘jalabhishek’ (offering water) of ‘Laddoo Gopal’ within the premises of the mosque where Lord Krishna was born. But no orders were passed and with the festival of Janmashtami approaching on August 18, I have filed revision today seeking permission to conduct jalabhishek,” stated Sharma.
“The court of district judge Mathura has fixed August 1 as the next date for hearing my revision plea. I am hopeful that the court will consider my plea,” Sharma added.
