The city police have booked an architect and his wife for cheating a city resident of ₹1.65 crore on the pretext of drawing the floor plans of his house.

The accused have been identified as Manoj Jaggi and wife Poonam Jaggi, residents of Ishwar Nagar on Pakhowal Road.
The couple has been booked under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint of Rajiv Sood, a resident of Industrial Area- A.
The complainant said he had given the amount to Jaggi, who is as an architect, for drawing plans for a house he was constructing in Janpath Estate of Jhamat village. Sood said that neither did the accused make the maps nor did he return the money.
He said that for six years, Jaggi kept dilly-dallying over the issue.
Sarabha Nagar station house officer, Amritpal Singh said that following preliminary investigation, a case has been registered against the couple.
