Congress leader Mohan Joshi said, “Gandhi will arrive in the city Saturday afternoon. He will then visit All India Shree Shivaji Memorial Society’s college located near the regional transport office (RTO) and begin the interaction with the students.”.

President of the Congress’s city unit Prashant Jagtap said, “Over the last one week, we have reached out to the maximum number of students and college campuses. We have got a huge response. We have made arrangements for 25,000 students on ground however around 40,000 students have enrolled for the interaction. We are making necessary arrangements for the same”.

Jagtap said, “There will be a live band playing before Gandhi’s arrival. Thereafter, Gandhi will step onto the stage and begin the interaction. There will be no other leader on the stage”.

All state leaders of the party have arrived in the city including Maharashtra unit president Harshwardhan Sapkal, Vijay Wadettiwar, Balasaheb Thorat, Bunty Patil and president of the youth wing.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Kanhiyya Kumar on Friday told media persons at Congress Bhavan, “Many hurdles are being created for Gandhi’s interaction with students in Pune. The same happened at Kota. But if Gandhi did not worry about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah, it is certain that he will not worry about Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. The interaction in Pune city will be successful, no matter what”.

“India’s first girls’ school was started in Pune. The people who troubled Savitribai Phule are the very same people criticising the event. We are not worried about it…” Kumar said.
