The woman lodged a complaint on Sunday and police have booked the dog’s owner Manisha Singh, said officials.

As per the complaint, Rashmi Abhishek Saksena (45) had taken lift from 10th floor of the building at 7.10 pm. When the lift reached the 7th floor, the accused’s daughter entered the lift with the dog. When the lift began descending, the dog attacked Saksena and bit her on the right hand. The daughter stopped the lift on the third floor and called her husband for help. He immediately took Saksena to the Noble hospital for treatment

Saksena in her complaint stated that, after repetitive requests, Singh family did not take proper care while handling their dog in the residential complex. Earlier, the same dog has attacked three other residents. Saksena alleged that the dog did not have a leash in the lift nor was there a mouth guard.

Hadapsar Police has registered case against dog’s owner, Singh and his father both are residents of Banner under sections 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Arvind Gokule, senior police Inspector at Hadapsar police station said, “As per the complaint we have registered a case under IPC section 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt) and further investigation is on.”
