The incident led to an escalation of war of words and sloganeering between the two political parties and the police had to resort to mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
NCP workers demonstrated outside the Atal Bihari Vajpayee garden alleging that it was being inaugurated by Fadnavis despite being incomplete. Fadnavis, after the protest, inaugurated the garden. Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) police stated that they had to resort to lathicharge as the crowd was getting restless. The former CM later condemned the incident while addressing the media.
