The Pune police on Saturday booked Shiv Sena corporator Bala Oswal from Parvati ward and three others in a land grabbing case in Gangadham road, Kondhwa.

The other accused have been identified as Sumit Telang, Shahaji Randive, Sukeshani alis Rani Bansode.

“The complaint was filed by Sushma Sunil Rithe (32), a resident of Bibwewadi, who alleged that Oswal along with the other accused, forced her to vacate the plot on Gangadham road Kondhwa,” said an official at Kondhwa police station.

As per the complaint, corporator along with three others brutally assaulted Rithe and her mother Mukta Sakharam Kamble and her sister Nilima with wooden sticks on June 24, 2022.

In 1990, Rithe purchased the said plot from Ramchandra Rathi and Baban Memane at 26,000 and has all necessary documents of the plot.

In his complaint, Rithe claims that on June 24 at around 10:30 pm, near Gangadham road, the four accused brutally assaulted Rithe and her relatives with wooden sticks. They fled while threatening her with dire consequences if she does not vacate the plot.

S Patil, a senior police inspector of Kondhwa police station, said that on June 24, a dispute had occurred between Oswal and Rithe family regarding the plot, and a complaint was lodged with the police. Rithe alleged that the accused were pressurising her to vacate the plot.

A case under Sections 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), section 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused at Kondhwa police station.
