Man held for killing friend after consuming liquor

The Pune police have arrested a man for killing his friend after consuming liquor, said officials on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Pravin Namdev Naik (41) a resident of Keshavnagar, Mudhawa. He was arrested from Pawarwasti, Keshavnagar on Sunday.

According to police, on August 2, victim Anil Raju Sasi (33) resident of Hadapsar, Pune went with Naik to enjoy a drink together. The got into a heated argument and the conversation escalated. Naik then started hitting Sasi with a stone. Sasi’s received injuries in the head and left eye.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, during treatment Sasi died on Sunday at around 2:00 pm.

Officials from the Hadapsar police station said, that the complaint was filed by the victim’s brother Akshay and the accused has been arrested.
