Pune reports warmer June in last 10 years

According to the data furnished by India Meteorological Department (IMD), this June will be the warmest June with the highest minimum temperature in the last decade

Even though cloudy weather is reported in Pune, it has reported the lowest minimum temperature at 22.6 degrees Celsius on June 21 and June 24. According to the data furnished by India Meteorological Department (IMD), this June will be the warmest June with the highest minimum temperature in the last decade.

According to the met department, the coolest minimum temperature reported in the last 10 years was 18.5 degrees Celsius in 2017. The all-time record for minimum temperature was 17 degrees Celsius in 1979.

However, minimum temperature has shown an increasing trend in the past few months as well. The warmer night temperature has resulted in warmer nights for Pune.

Anupam Kashyapi, head, weather forecasting department, IMD Pune, said the minimum temperature will remain around 23 to 24 degrees Celsius.

“The weather is pleasant in the city as day temperature is around 32 to 33 degrees Celsius and mostly cloudy days are observed,” said Kashyapi.

“Enhanced rainfall activity is likely over Maharashtra from June 27 till June 28,” said Kashyapi.

Till Sunday, Satara, Kolhapur, Sangli, Raigarh, Pune, Ratnagiri and Thane reported over 53 per cent of rainfall deficiency.
