Survey of parking sites underway for Kumbh Mela

Pune: The Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) has ordered physical verification of identified parking sites across Nashik city and Trimbakeshwar for the upcoming Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, and submit report within a week, said officials on Thursday.

NTKMA issued the communication to Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) and the public works department (PWD) on February 9 to examine parking plots.

The parking list includes multiple large parcels along key arterial roads in Nashik such as Peth Road, Dindori Road, Dhule Road, Pune Road and Mumbai Road, in addition to several sites in the Trimbakeshwar region. Shekhar Singh, commissioner, NTKMA said, “Accurate ground validation of parking locations is critical for scientific traffic planning.”
