Hemant Brijwasi (20), winner of SaReGaMaPa Li’l Champs 2009 was attacked in Vrindavan on Saturday, while he was on his way to Bankey Bihari Temple. Police have registered a case and investigation is underway. The matter is said to be an outcome of a family feud.
The incident occurred on Saturday when Brijwasi was travelling in his car to the temple. Four motorcycle-borne attackers banged sticks against his car. In the attack, the wind screen of the car was damaged and he was injured.
Later the artist reached Kotwali Vrindavan along with his father Hukum Brijwasi. They alleged that the attackers were their relatives who were jealous of their progress.
Uday Pratap Singh, station officer, Vrindavan Kotwali, informed that a case was registered against four people, two of them named – Bhola and Madhav. The two accused have made objectionable comments in the past, alleged Brijwasi.
“It appears to be a family feud, as the accused are cousins of Hemant Brijwasi. Search is on for them,” said Singh.
