If one makes the best use of the opportunities coming one’s way, success will come routinely. But we are either too lazy or too pessimistic and hardly grab chances.

If you had grabbed all the opportunities that came your way, the difference could be mind-boggling.

Professionals are taught to keep in mind two key words, ‘promotional focus’, that make the difference between success and failure.

One who sees a chance in a situation to “go up” makes the best use of the chance; but some of us keep complaining and lose the chances that could have gotten us higher up the ladder.

Whenever a chance comes your way, what is needed is clear thinking, a bit of creativity, confidence and the will to carry out the task. Then the magic unfolds and you are a step ahead.

Keep in mind that each one of us has an opportunity recognition skill, but we let it remain dormant since we are not positive and don’t develop the skill of an entrepreneur.

American writer and Oscar winner Eric Roth had to say, “Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the one we miss.”

Even if one loses a job, that needs to be taken as an opportunity to a better and brighter world instead of getting dejected.

We were all born equal but where we are now in life is because of our own making. If you have read Steve Maraboli’s ‘Unapologetically You: Reflections of Life and Human Experience’, you would recall this fondly,”

Today is a new day. It is a day you have never seen before and will never see again.

Seize the wonder and the uniqueness of today.” Today is the turning point and that is all that matters.
