Delhi Capitals win toss, opt to bowl against Chennai

“There was a lot more grass last week but that's not to say the wicket is not going to be a belter. However, it may be a little bit slower and a bit spin orientated. Couple of weeks back there was dew but not so much last week. It is indecisive for us. Is it going to be indecisive for the captains? We will wait and see..”

CSK, meanwhile, can go past KKR and climb to 8th spot if they beat the Capitals.

Delhi Capitals have beaten Chennai Super Kings on four occasions in their last five matches.

However, CSK clinched victory in their last game against Rishabh Pant's side, which was also the first qualifier of IPL 2021.

Two of CSK's three wins in the tournament have come at this venue.

DC, meanwhile, have lost only one match at the DY Patil Stadium.

He has hit 45 fours in the season so far, and is only behind Jos Buttler (55).

Although he remains far away from Jos Buttler (618 runs) who looks like he will run away with the Orange Cap with reasonable comfort, David Warner made a huge stride after his unbeaten 92 against SRH in Delhi Capitals' last game.

He is currently fifth in the IPL 2022 run-scoring list with 356 runs in eight matches.

With 18 wickets in 10 matches, Kuldeep Yadav is currently second in the Purple Cap list, trailing Yuzvendra Chahal by four wickets.

Ricky Ponting reserved massive praise for Khaleel Ahmed after his effort against SRH despite being hit on the collarbone.

CSK's five Indian bowlers (Jadeja, Choudhary, Deshpande, Simarjeet and Dube) have combined to take only 17 wickets of the side's 55 in IPL 2022. Moreover, they have conceded at a cumulative economy rate of 9.06.
