DLF, which won the title sponsorship of the multi-million dollar IPL for five years in 2008, said it was certain that the second edition of the event "will be even bigger and better than last year".

"Our commitment towards the DLF Indian Premier League remains resolute and long term, given the immense synergies involved. We will continue to support the League that has ushered in a new era of cricket and entertainment for a global audience," said its Group Executive Director Rajeev Talwar in a media release.

IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi also expressed happiness that the real estate firm "will continue to play an integral part in helping develop the league into a truly world-class platform for showcasing and developing cricketing talent globally".

"I look forward to the start of Season II in April 2009", added Modi who is also one of the Vice Presidents of the Cricket Board under whose sanction the IPL is being held.
