Lancashire County club confirmed on Tuesday that all-rounder Andrew Flintoff will not be representing them for the rest of the 2010 season. The announcement has raised questions about Flintoff's participation in the upcoming T20 Champions League in September.

Flintoff has already been named in the Chennai Super Kings squad for the mega event in South Africa.

“Whilst Andrew has made significant progress, the combined opinion is that he is not quite ready for a return to cricket. He will continue his rehabilitation into the winter months and we will constantly monitor and review his progress so that he is better equipped for a return to action,” Lancashire Cricket Director Mark Atkinson was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

Flintoff last played a Test match against Australia in the Ashes series a year ago. He had an operation on his right knee last September and later he was forced to undergo another surgery in January.

The England all-rounder retired from Test cricket after the end of Ashes last summer but is still available for selection in One Day International and T20 cricket.
