Hardik Pandya took to Instagram on Saturday to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his Test debut for the Indian cricket team. The all-rounder was handed his debut in the match against Sri Lanka in Galle and since then, he has featured in 7 Test matches for the Indian cricket team.
In the seven matches, Pandya has notched up 368 runs at an average of 36.38 with his highest score of 108 runs and he has also proven himself as a handy medium-pacer bowling option with seven wickets in as many games.
Pandya posted a picture of himself on the social networking site with the caption: “#OnThisDay last year: TEST. From debut in to now, it’s been a memorable experience so far.”
Pandya is currently in England as part of the Indian squad and he will be a key part of the visitors’ game plan ahead of the Test series starting August 1.
He had a disappointing run in the limited-overs series and was unable to fire for his team. However, he will take some heart from the crucial half-century he scored against Essex in the three-day practice match but his bowling still needs improvement ahead of the five-match Test series.
