Live updates: Ashton Turner and Alex Carey guided Australia home after Peter Handscomb scored his maiden century to steady their innings after two quick dismissals. Usman Khawaja made 91. Bhuvneshwar Kumar castled Aaron Finch to hand India an early breakthrough and Jasprit Bumrah followed suit by taking the wicket of Shaun Marsh. Batting first, Jasprit Bumrah slammed Pat Cummins for a massive six down the ground and with that the Indian innings comes to an end. India finished at 359/9 in 50 overs. “The wicket remained good throughout the game. It was very difficult to bowl in the end, Asthon’s innings was the game-changer. Last game, we were told there would be dew and we were at the wrong end. They played better cricket, they deserved to win.

“We had to get the fifth bowler out of the way, so we wanted to get done with it first. It became too wet to bowl, it was very difficult to bowl in the right areas. Crucial, we were sloppy in the field and should’ve grabbed our chances.

“The opportunities slipped away and so was the game. It’s going to be cracker of a game, we’ve had two eye-openers in two games. We have to work hard and we got to come up with more intensity and passion in the next game.”

“I thought the partnership between Usman and Peter was crucial. The wicket was good, we weren’t panicking. The plan was to take the game as deep as we could.

“Ashton playing his second game and playing a match-winning knock was wonderful. We have seen him do that in Big Bash and to take on two of the best death bowlers in the world was outstanding.”

Since his return into the side after being rested, Bumrah has scalped just seven wickets in five matches across formats. With seven wickets in three matches, Adam Zampa is joint second in the list of highest wicket-taker in the series. He is tied with teammate Pat Cummins with seven wickets and is only behind Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, who has picked up eight wickets so far. The likes of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav have been dismissed twice by Zampa in the series and he also played a crucial role in Australia’s win in Ranchi. India look to break Mohali jinx

The Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali - the venue for the fourth ODI between India and Australia - is also not much different as the hosts have won 5 of their last 6 matches. However, against Australia, the record at this venue is not that impressive. Out of the four meeting between the two sides, the hosts have won just once and the victory came way back in 1996.
