But Shreyas Iyer and his band of boys have a sterner test waiting for them as they take on three-time champions Chennai Super Kings for a place in the final for the first time.

Delhi find themselves in this situation because of the 80-run loss to CSK in the group stage, which brought their net run-rate tumbling down. Not only have Delhi lost both their matches against CSK this season, their over head to head record against MS Dhoni’s team is quite dismal, having won only 6 out of 20 encounters.

But this Delhi team has in its rank a match-winner who has taken Indian cricket by storm. Rishabh Pant is in the form of his life with the bat and could hold the key yet again.
