It was Chennai Super Kings who denied Delhi Capitals a top-two spot in the league standings with a crushing 80-run win at Chepauk when they last met and the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side stands in DC’s way again, only stakes are much higher in the Qualifier 2 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam on Friday.

CSK are used to playing the big matches, having won three titles besides being runners-up four times.

They were hammered by Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1 but expect CSK to bounce back in style. Dhoni will be expecting an improved performance from his batsmen after the disappointment against Mumbai Indians.

Opener Shane Watson has not been among the runs ever since smashing a 53-ball 96 against Sunrisers on April 23.

The talismanic skipper admitted that they could have read the conditions better against Mumbai at home and asked his batsmen to be careful with shot selection going forward.

“These are the best batsmen we have got, it looks like we are batting well, but at times, they pull off shots that shouldn’t be played. These are the players who we have banked on, they have the experience and they should know to assess the conditions better,” said Dhoni after the six-wicket loss to Mumbai.

Murali Vijay replaced injured Kedar Jadhav in the Qualifier 1 and did a decent job in the middle order. He is expected to keep his place on Friday.CSK might in fact field an unchanged playing XI, considering the fact the pitch on offer at Vizag is expected to be similar to Chepauk. The spin trio of Harbhajan, Tahir and Jadeja are certain to retain their place in the side.

CSK, however might change their batting order to provide more emphasis to their innings. Dwayne Bravo or Jadeja could be promoted up the order to break the pattern.

CSK Predicted XI vs DC: 1 Shane Watson, 2 Faf du Plessis, 3 Suresh Raina, 4 M Vijay, 5 Ambati Rayudu, 6 MS Dhoni (capt & wk), 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 Dwayne Bravo, 9 Harbhajan Singh, 10 Deepak Chahar, 11 Imran Tahir
