3:07 AM IST Fatima and Aliya to the rescue - After electing to bat first, Pakistan's middle-over woes reared their head. Following a 46-run opening stand, they were reduced to 67/5. It could well have been 67/6 had Dilara Akter not dropped Fatima Sana on the very first ball the skipper faced. Fatima made Bangladesh pay dearly for it, putting on a 67-run stand with Aliya Riaz to help her side reach 146.

3:05 AM IST The chase never took off - A subdued Powerplay saw Bangladesh lose 3 wickets and score just 25 runs. They never really recovered from that start. Nigar Sultana and Sharmin Akhter put on a 47-run stand, but the lack of boundaries meant the required rate kept climbing and eventually spiralled out of control. Credit to Pakistan, who put in a collective effort with the ball and were tidy in the field as well. Umm-e-Hani was the pick of the bowlers, with the off-spinner returning figures of 3/10 from her 4 overs, including a wicket-maiden.

3:02 AM IST Pakistan clinch bronze - Pakistan found themselves in trouble with the bat but fought their way out of it before producing a near-perfect performance with the ball. That has earned them a return to the podium after missing out on a medal at the previous edition. Bangladesh, meanwhile, simply never got going with the bat and will finish outside the podium places. It also brings the curtain down on Nigar Sultana's tenure as T20I skipper.
