Through his petition, advocate Ajay Kumar Agrawal sought the court’s direction for a probe either by the CBI or a special investigation team (SIT) appointed by the court.

Referring to news reports on Tharoor’s alleged role in securing the Kochi franchise for Rendezvous Sports World Limited, the petition accused Tharoor of misusing his official position to obtain a 5% stake worth Rs 70 crore, free of cost for his friend Sunanda Pushkar.
