A composed and thoughtful cricketer, Aneeshwar Gautam carries an old-school grace in modern limited-overs clothes. Born in Bengaluru on January 16, 2003, his left-handed elegance with the bat and craft as a slow left-arm orthodox spinner stood out early. His character is anchored in quiet diligence, discipline, and emotional maturity, often taking on unglamorous roles with admirable poise.
Starting his structured cricket training in the maidans and academies of Bengaluru as a pre-teen, Gautam progressed through the Karnataka age-group ranks with distinction. He captained the state at Under-16 and Under-19 levels, demonstrating tactical acumen, composure, and leadership beyond his years.
The pivotal breakthrough arrived when he earned selection for the India Under-19 squad for the ICC Under-19 World Cup in the West Indies in early 2022. Gautam was a trusted presence in the title-winning campaign under Yash Dhull, providing balance with both bat and ball. That triumph earned him an IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the 2022 season, introducing the teenager to elite dressing rooms alongside world-class mentors.
In Karnataka state cricket and the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, Gautam established himself as a clutch performer for teams like Mangalore United, Shivamogga Lions, and Hubli Tigers. He proved his mettle by taking crucial breakthroughs and anchoring difficult run chases, helping his franchises maintain consistency in the state league through sharp tactical awareness and game management.
Across the 2025 and 2026 domestic cycles, Gautam solidified his position in Karnataka's senior domestic setups. During the 2026 Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, he once again played a pivotal role for the Hubli Tigers, compiling 151 runs, anchored by a standout 60 off 41 balls against the Mysore Warriors. Heading into October 2026, he remained one of Karnataka’s most versatile young all-round assets as the state prepares for its 2026-27 campaign.
