Himanshu Rana is a right-handed top-order batter from Sonipat, Haryana, who has represented Haryana in domestic cricket across all three formats. He first came into the spotlight as a promising young talent, making his first-class debut against Delhi in January 2015. He made an immediate impression, top-scoring for Haryana with 80 in his maiden appearance. In just his third first-class match, he registered his maiden century, scoring 149 against Rajasthan to help Haryana secure an innings victory. He followed it up with another significant performance in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy, scoring 157 against Maharashtra. He also made his T20 debut in 2015, while playing his first List A game a couple of years later.
Rana's consistent performances at the domestic level earned him a place in India's squad for the 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was part of the Indian side that lifted the title in New Zealand under Prithvi Shaw's captaincy, alongside several future senior internationals. The tournament marked an important milestone in his development, giving him exposure to a global competition and a strong group of emerging Indian cricketers.
Returning to domestic cricket, Rana continued to be a key contributor for Haryana, particularly in the Ranji Trophy. He finished as the team's leading run-scorer in the 2018-19 season, accumulating 594 runs in nine matches. His ability to convert starts into substantial scores helped establish him as a dependable option in the top order. He has also made notable contributions in limited-overs cricket, including a century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy semi-final against Tamil Nadu, helping Haryana reach the final and ultimately lifting their maiden title, ending with 329 runs in the tournament. The following season, he scored 362 runs, and in 2025/26, he improved on that, racking up 369 runs. His consistency earned him a place in the Haryana squad for the Ranji Trophy 2026/27 season.
