Ravindra Jadeja banned from IPL

Ravindra Jadeja will miss out on at least one year of IPL after the governing council took action against the allrounder for reportedly not signing a contract renewal with the Rajasthan Royals and instead attempting to negotiate higher wages with another team, reports HT Correspondent.

“The player guidelines are sacrosanct and all players need to strictly adhere to the same,” said Lalit Modi. “We will not tolerate any player playing games or blackmailing any teams or the IPL/BCCI in any manner.”

While the ban is for a year, Jadeja could miss out for longer. Jadeja is set to miss out on September's player auction that will decide how players are redistributed for the expanded 2011 season.
