Sourav Ganguly turns 45, wishes pour in on social media

Sourav Ganguly, former Indian cricket team captain, turned 45 on Saturday and the twitteratti showered him with wishes.

Wishes poured in for Sourav Ganguly on social media platforms as the former India captain turned 45 on Saturday.

Fans and admirers took to Twitter to wish ‘Dada’ on his birthday and that showed when #HappyBirthdayDada became the top trend on the micro blogging site.

As a captain, Ganguly guided the Indian cricket team to the final of the 2003 ICC World Cup as well as the summit clashes of the 2000 and 2002 ICC Champions Trophy.

He also brought in, backed and nurtured young players like Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh, who have gone on to become match-winners for India.

The former left-handed batsman is nowadays busy with his commentary duties and is also the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

The former India captain played 113 Tests scoring 7,212 runs and in the coloured clothing he made 11,363 runs in 311 One-Day Internationals.
