Team India avoided a clean sweep against hosts Bangladesh as they won by 227 runs in the third One-Day International (ODI) on Saturday. Batting first, the visitors scored 409/8 in 50 overs with a century by Virat Kohli and a stunning double ton by Ishan Kishan. Kohli scored 113 off 91 balls while Ishan slammed 210 off 131 balls and the duo stitched a 290-run partnership for the second wicket. Player of the Match Kishan stunned the cricket world by hitting the fastest double hundred in ODIs. He received plaudits from all corners for becoming the youngest double centurion in the format. In a star-studded Team India, he got the opportunity to play after captain Rohit Sharma was ruled out due to injury and he grabbed it with both hands. His stunning knock of 210 off 131 balls, has made the cricket experts and former cricketers take notice.

Former Indian cricketer Reetinder Singh Sodhi was all praise for the 24-year-old. Speaking to India News after Ishan's blazing knock, Sodhi called him a young talent who is there to stay for long in Indian cricket.

"We were thinking that Ishan Kishan is a young talent who is probably not doing justice to his potential. However, the knock that he has played has been unbelievable and will be remembered for years to come. Ye lambi race ka ghoda hai (he is here for the long haul) and has a range of explosive shots just like Suryakumar Yadav," said Sodhi.

Sodhi also applauded Team India's mindset in the third ODI and hailed their terrific comeback after losing the first two ODIs and having already lost the series.

"There was a lot of talk about how they would react in the third ODI after a 2-0 hammering and a series loss. However, the way they stuck together as a team and performed today, it seems like the elusive ICC trophy may not be too far away," he said.

However, the Men in Blue lost the series 1-2 to the hosts but they will carry plenty of positives to the upcoming two-match Test series against them.
