BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa elected Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee chief

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Rajouri Garden Manjinder Singh Sirsa has been elected as new president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). He replaces Manjit Singh GK, who resigned on December 6 last year following charges of corruption in gurdwara funds.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator from Rajouri Garden Manjinder Singh Sirsa has been elected as new president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). He replaces Manjit Singh GK, who resigned on December 6 last year following charges of corruption in gurdwara funds.

Harmeet Singh Kalka has been elected general secretary, Kulwant Singh Baath vice-president, Ranjit Kaur senior vice-president and Harwinder Singh KP joint secretary of the DSGMC.

The election results were announced on Friday evening at the DSGMC’s head office at Guru Gobind Singh Bhawan, Gurudwara Rakabganj.

Sirsa, a prominent Sikh leader, won the Rajouri Garden bypoll in 2017.

He also served as the general secretary of the DSGMC twice, first in 2013 and then again in 2017. Sirsa is also a national spokesperson for the Shiromani Akali Dal and considered close party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support. I will continue to work for the DSGMC with the utmost dedication,” said Sirsa.

Besides, Harinder Pal Singh, Mahinder Pal Singh Chaddha, Paramjit Singh Chandhok, Paramjit Singh Rana, Kuldeep Singh Sahni, Jagdeep Singh Kahlo, Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, Vikram Singh Rohini, Malkinder Singh and Jitender Singh Sahni have been unanimously elected members of the DSGMC executive board.
