Woman kills ‘wife-beater’, ‘two-timer’ husband in Delhi
The woman allegedly tried to falsely implicate two other men for her husband Salim’s murder. But police investigation found she had in fact strangled him with a dupatta.
A 25-year-old woman who killed her husband after she was fed up of his atrocities and extramarital affairs has been arrested, police said on Saturday.

The woman allegedly tried to falsely implicate two other men for her husband Salim’s murder. But police investigation found she had in fact strangled him with a dupatta.
Salim was admitted to a hospital in north-east Delhi’s Shastri Park early on Tuesday, but was declared brought dead by doctors.
His wife told police that she suspected two men, Gulbahaar and Asif, killed her husband. Police registered a murder case and picked the duo for questioning.
But after interrogating them, police concluded they were innocent, said AK Singla, DCP (North-East). The police began enquiring in the locality about the relations between Salim and his wife.
The probe revealed that the couple often fought and the man would beaten her up. The police then began questioning her about the circumstances of the murder.
The woman broke down after sustained questioning and disclosed why she killed him, said police.
“The woman said her husband used to beat her often over petty issues. She was fed up of his alleged extramarital affairs. Wanting to free herself from her husband’s atrocities, the woman decided to kill him,” said the DCP.
When Salim returned home after work on Monday night, his wife allegedly served him dinner spiked with pills that made him unconscious. She then strangled him using her dupatta that has been recovered by the police.
Since Salim was having a bitter relationship with two men known to the family, she thought she could get away by blaming them.
