NEW DELHI: Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain on Thursday offered a job to the wife of a dentist who was lynched by a mob in west Delhi in March.

Upma Narang, wife of Pankaj Narang, was offered the post of civil assistant surgeon (dental) at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences.

A mob lynched 42-year-old Pankaj Narang with iron rods, cricket bats at New Krishna Park in Vikaspuri in March. The killing had created a sensation leading to protests by locals. Police had nabbed nine people, including four juveniles, for attacking Narang. Most of the accused are e-rickshaw drivers from the locality and fishmongers from a nearby market who live in a nearby slum, police said.
